Lentils are one of my favorite foods. I like it for its nutrition values. Lentils are rich in minerals, protein, and fiber.
They support the health of the heart.
For women is recommended to consume more often if they plan to get pregnant, and during the pregnancy too. This because one cup of lentils provides around 90% of the required folate that body needs for one day, which is critical for preventing congenital disabilities and plays an important role during periods of rapid growth such as pregnancy, infancy and adolescence.
Lentils also can prevent cancer. Selenium is a mineral found in lentils, which is not present in most of the other foods. Selenium prevents inflammation, decreases tumor growth rates and improves immune system.
Lentils also help in digestion, regularity and satiety, this because of its fiber content.
And many more goods to count. So, I like consuming lentils at least twice a week.
