As my purpose is to eat the seasons, on the end of September, is the perfect time for walnuts. I usually buy 10 kilograms of walnuts with wrapper (not broken ones), and put them on the ground in my balcony, on the sun, for one week. Walnuts inside will dry, than I put them inside in some bags. When they dry up, they will be fresh for 1 year, so you can eat the walnuts that you have bought yourself when it was the season, and will eat the whole year. So you avoid buying somewhere else, which are farmed ones, and do not have the nutrition that have when you buy on its season.

You have to dry them because if you don’t, they will become black and will mold. So, you must dry them in the sun for one week.

I prefer eating more on September, October and November, than the other months more rarely. During the season I eat walnuts every single day, than from December to the next September I eat them once a week.

Walnuts contain good fats and a great source of the essential fatty acid omega-3.

They also contain selenium, iron, calcium, some of B vitamins, magnesium, and vitamin E.

Your heart will have benefits when eating walnuts and they can be an effective part of a cancer-preventive diet.

The most thing that I like from walnuts, despite the great taste, is that they maintain the health of the brain. I love the fact that nuts may improve the brain function.

They are rich in antioxidants and they may decrease inflammation.
